At Carvana, we’ve grown accustomed to entering new markets and finding ways to weave ourselves into the fabric of the communities who have adopted the new way to buy a car. It’s one of the exciting elements of what we do. With that, however, we also know that being the new kid in town isn’t always easy. Which is why our series of guides compiled by Carvana team members in our different markets aims to help both visitors and new residents find their bearings and experience the unique flavors, sights, and sounds that each of our markets has to offer. Tupelo Honey Cafe
This contemporary Sandy Springs hangout is known for the free (!) biscuits with honey and jam that come with every meal, not to mention the amazing avocado toast and cocktails. Don’t miss the $10 bottomless mac-and-cheese happy hour on Thursday nights!
South City Kitchen
If you’re looking for Southern food with an upscale twist, look no further than South City Kitchen. Head over for brunch to try some of their famous chicken and waffles!
West Egg
There’s usually a wait, but the food is absolutely worth it! The biscuits are to die for and the Snickers Latte is a must-try. The place also has a cool Great Gatsby theme that will make you feel like the 1920s new money mogul you are!
COFFEE SHOPS
Chattahoochee Coffee Company
This hidden gem offers customers an amazing view of the Chattahoochee River while they sip their espressos and flat whites. They exclusively brew Counter Culture beans and support tons of local social justice initiatives, so you can feel good about your caffeine addiction!
Relevator Coffee
Come check out the minimalist coffee shop that is taking the South by storm! The menu is refreshingly uncomplicated, and Relevator prides itself on serving ethically-sourced blends that rotate seasonally.
Octane
This hip(ster) coffee shop right across the way from Carvana’s Atlanta Vending Machine offers everything from nitro coffee to cocktails! That’s right, it’s a coffee shop and a bar. You’re welcome.
PLACES TO GO AFTER WORK/WEEKENDS
Suntrust Park
Get ready to chop! Suntrust Park is the new, state-of-the-art home of the Atlanta Braves! Make sure you show up early to beat traffic. The brand new stadium has tons of great restaurants and shops to hold you over until first pitch!
Ponce City Market
Not only does this place have amazing restaurants and fun places to shop, but the rooftop has one of the best views in the city! On the roof (Skyline Park) they have a restaurant/bar, putt putt golf, and carnival games.
The Beltline
Wear comfy shoes! The Beltline is a trail that can take you from Piedmont Park through some of the coolest Atlanta neighborhoods. It’s lined with unique local art (check out #TinyDoorsATL) and some of the city’s best restaurants. There are also places close to the Beltline where you can rent bikes if you don’t feel like walking!
BBQ
Heirloom Market BBQ
Known as the “smallest of places with the biggest of hearts,” this tiny eatery has only one communal table. Locally-sourced meats are served with a Korean flair, and the spicy Korean pork sandwich keeps locals coming back.
Fat Matt’s BBQ
“Ribs, Beer, Blues.” What more could you ask for? Fat Matt’s is known for their smokey, fall off the bone ribs. This place is no-frills and will make you feel like an Atlanta local and southern native in no time!
Fox Bros. BBQ
Loosen your belt! This BBQ joint is the definition of southern comfort food. Fox Brothers BBQ was listed as one of the top 10 Most Popular BBQ Joints in America by ABC News and has been featured on the Food Network, HGTV, and TLC.
BREWERY
Sweetwater Brewery
Arguably Atlanta’s most popular brewery. “The Taproom” features Sweetwater’s year-round brews and “The Woodlands” holds the high-end beer. Friday through Sunday Sweetwater brings in some of Atlanta’s best food trucks. Check out their events calendar – they often host live music and comedy!
Monday Night Brewery
“Weekends are Overrated.” Tie one on at Monday Night Brewery! Make sure to get a picture in front of their tie wall! They are known for their weekday after work brewery tours and their “everyday” tasty beers.
Orpheus Brewery
Like sour beer? Even if you don’t, you will be able to enjoy one of the many diverse beer styles Orpheus offers! They also frequently host many local artists and they are located within walking distance to Piedmont Park. Head out to the back porch on a sunny day for a round of giant Jenga!
LIVE MUSIC
Northside Tavern
If you’re looking for a dive bar with great music, look no further. Northside Tavern features live blues bands seven nights a week. Fun Fact: Check out their website to see all of the movies and TV shows that have filmed at Northside Tavern!
Terminal West
Once a plow factory, Terminal West is located in what was once an iron smelting room. It has been transformed into a music venue with modern production while maintaining the original factory aesthetics. Terminal West hosts bands and musicians of all sizes, make sure to check out their website and see who is coming to town!
Smith’s Olde Bar
Smith’s Olde Bar is a great place to see some of Atlanta’s favorite local bands. The lower level is a restaurant/bar with pool tables and the upstairs is a music venue/bar. They also host “1AM Comedy” shows on Saturday nights that are free and feature secret guests! Be sure to get your tickets beforehand!
