Several days have passed since Hurricane Irma hit the state of Florida, but the resulting aftermath from the flooding and overall destruction left in its wake continues to be a gut-wrenching reality for millions of residents in the Sunshine State.
As a member of several communities affected by Hurricane Irma, we want to do our part to help Florida get back on its feet and begin the process of recovering and rebuilding the areas we call home. We also understand that there are scores of brave and selfless individuals who are already providing critical humanitarian aid to Florida’s affected residents, so we want to make sure we are contributing in ways that don’t duplicate those efforts.
Hundreds of thousands of cars have been or will be damaged due to Irma’s destruction. It goes without saying that that leaves many people without essential means of transportation. To help, we are making our national inventory of more than 7,000 vehicles available to our customers in Tampa, Miami, Orlando, and Jacksonville as soon as the next day. In addition, we are also offering $500 Visa gift cards with any Carvana purchase in September that is not returned within the 7-day window to help ease the economic impact that’s been felt as a result of the storm.
