It’s been a little over a week since Hurricane Harvey hit Houston and the city’s surrounding areas, but the impact of the flooding and overall devastation left in its wake continues to be a sobering everyday reality for millions of residents in southeast Texas.
As a member of the Houston community, we want to do our part to help the Houston area get back on its feet and begin the process of recovering and rebuilding the areas we call home. We also understand that there are countless brave and selfless individuals who are already providing critical humanitarian aid to the area’s affected residents, so we want to make sure we are contributing in ways that don’t duplicate those efforts.
It is estimated that 500,000 cars will be totaled due to Harvey’s destruction and its fallout. It goes without saying that that leaves many people without vital means of transportation. To help, we are making our national inventory of more than 7,000 vehicles available to Houston area customers as soon as the next day. In addition, we are also offering $500 Visa gift cards to Carvana customers to help ease the economic impact that’s been felt as a result of the storm.
